I have a few good memories but I always remember when we were little and going valentine shopping at the store for those little cheap valentines. We would buy boxes and lillipops. My mom would attach a lillipop and we would give them out to all our classmates and vice versa. I loved that.

I'm getting to the point where nothing stands out in my memory anymore! Arrgghh getting old! But isn't it funny how the oldest memories stick! This one is from my childhood. I must have been in the 2nd grade. This was a time when you gave valentine's to who you wanted in school...(when my kids were in school, teachers sent out a note that our child was to include EVERYONE in the class in valentine exchanges...so no one was left out)...back to the story. When the day came for the teacher to hand out our cards, I had plenty as did most of the kids in my class, but I did notice one boy who got NONE! He was the quiet, funny looking kid you can all probably visualize who didn't have many if any friends; the coke bottle glasses, not exceptionally bright kid? I felt so bad for him. THe next day, I brought him a valentine even though it was a day late and handed it to him at recess. He never did say much; kind of gripped that card in his mittened hand and looked shocked/pleased. I walked away feeling I had done the right thing; felt good. He would eye me from time to time the remainder of that school year and sometimes smile at me, but not much more than that. Time moves on, and I don't know where that guy is...maybe I should do a web search? Wonder if he ever had friends and led a normal life? Sad to think that possibly he didn't and just fell through the cracks of the system....Anyway. Sign me up for that lovely mini! Hearts are so appealing! Thanks.

It was our first Valentine's day together. Don and I had moved in together the previous October. we were in a 1 bedroom apartment at the time and we had bought the basic for our new place. At that time I used to make him dinner every night before he would go to work. I used to get so frustrated because we didn't have a potato peeler. I kept telling him I need a potato peeler. So, on Valentine's day he handed me my card. There was something strange inside the envelope. I opened it and out fell my potato peeler. You can't get much more romantic than that.
I love this quilt. If you only knew how hard I had to think to get this memory on here. lol

Well one of the most memorable valentines was when I was dating a guy in the airforce... I was at my parents home and there were a dozen roses delivered to me... as I was puting them into a vase there was a knock at the door which happened to be this airman... he had a box of chocolates for me and was wondering where the roses came from. Needless to say... I was wrong in assuming that they were from him! My family knew all along who the roses were from and enjoyed watching me try to figure out where they came from. ~ No I didnt marry either guy... I married another who was in the Army!
I'm a quilter and would love to win your little quilt!

Hi, My favourite valentines day was probably the WORST!! haha, we went to dinner at a local restaurant - it was so busy (overbooked) and hopeless staff that didn't know what they were doing. They ran out of wine, so a group of 'diners' went to the bottle shop for them!! Then we ended up all laughing together - the whole restaurant was up in arms!! We didn't get our meal until 11pm that night........

I absolutely LOVE this little quilt! Please count me in!

My favorite Valentine's memory is as a little girl in school we would make little "mailboxes" out of paper bags or shoe boxes (I forget which). When they were done, we'd hang them on the back of our chairs. Then everyone would put their heads down, and one-by-one each kid would get up and go around the room and put Valentine's in the other kids mailboxes. Since everyone one's heads were down, no one had to feel quite so bad if some kid skipped them. I remember the excitement, wondering whether you would get a Valentine from the guy you had a crush on!

Thank you for the wonderful giveaway!

What a beautiful piece, thank you for the chance to win it! My favorite Valentine memory (so far) is spending the evening with my dad when the rest of the family was out of town. We went to a fancy restaurant and then came home & ate a whole, giant box of candy between just the two of us!

Thank you!!

I really don't have a Valentine memory other than as kids, everyone in my school classroom traded Valentine's cards.
