Fuzzy Friends

Anthropologie is my all time favorite store in the mall! During a few of our prior visits there, Q had seen a display of these cute animals the sale room. Each time we go in there, Quincy is drawn to this floppy giraffe. The night we were in there, he kept tossing the toy giraffe around and asking would I please buy it...please...and the thing that finally got me to cave and let him adopt the giraffe was how Quincy told me "He listens to me, Mommy!" Quincy used his Christmas money and adopted the pink, floppy giraffe. Quincy told me the giraffe has his same name. Amused, Kaitlyn asked..."So...do you like your name?" He said, "Yep! And his is the same name!" And he gleefully tossed his floppy toy, Quincy up into the air.
When we passed by the mall's fountain, Quincy told me his Quincy loves to make wishes. I snickered to myself because my Quincy also loves to make wishes at the fountain.
That night, my Quincy had his jammies on and was sitting on the bed having a quiet moment with is giraffe, Quincy. I saw My Quincy following every zig and zag of Toy Quincy's mane tracing the velvety feature with his finger. I thought it was funny, because that was my favorite thing about the giraffe when he was sitting on the counter at the store waiting for the adoption to be finalized. Then, My Quincy turned the Toy Quincy around and looked at his face. My Quincy pushed the soft tufts away from the beady black eyes and he proclaimed with a giggle, "Awww! He's so cute!"
There is no buyer's remorse here!

Under The Weather

He's feeling pretty puny. He got to lie around and nap and watch some serious cartoons all day. I feel pretty sad for him as he woke up this morning and the first thing out of his mouth was, "I really, really, really, really, really want a cheeseburger!"
I knew if I got him a cheeseburger, though, we'd see it again. eeeeewwwww! So right now, we're trying hard to keep pedialyte and saltines in him. So far, so good.

Mall Rats
Feeling a touch of cabin fever a couple of days ago, I decided to pack up Quincy and head out for a little bit. We ended up at my favorite mall. We shopped a little bit and then stopped to enjoy a little cuppa....of course Q picked out chocolate milk. He spied this little stuffed cat and asked me to take it's picture. So I did. I love the expression on Quincy's face as he observes the mini shoot unsuspecting that he is in the picture as well. He's gotten a little fickle about having pictures of himself lately. He sees the lens and ducks for cover! I was glad to sneak this one in!I have a few things I have to do today. I plan to take my camera.

Seeing GREEN!
His birthday is on Saint Patrick's Day. He will be four. He is practicing holding up four fingers on his little hands. He's made a wish list...and has even requested cupcakes on his special day.
I wanted to knit another sweater for him to wear on his special day.
Everything lined up for a special birthday sweater...why not make it GREEN! My skills and confidence were stronger during the knitting of this sweater and I really enjoyed it.
The best part is...this picture was the result of Quincy putting the sweater on and buttoning it up all by himself. Capturing the photo was the most difficult part of this post! How 'bout THAT?!?

Pearly Whites

When we arrived, we were called back pretty quickly...which I think helped to not let anxiety set in too deeply. When we got into the exam room, there was a thick foam booster for a mini person. Quincy sat on the booster in the chair long enough for me to snap one photo, then told me he wanted to sit on my lap. The hygienist was all right with that. She gave him some tiny sunglasses to wear so the light wouldn't be so bright in his little eyes.
Teresa counted twenty teeth. Then asked Quincy what flavor he liked. I know they have about five different flavors, but she narrowed it down to two for him: cherry and orange. He chose orange. In all, his appointment lasted maybe 20 minutes. It was very quick! The report was there are no cavities and no tartar to be scraped. So of course, I patted myself on the back.
Q got to choose a new toothbrush, too! He told me he chose red because that is his favorite. It's really true! You learn something new every day! I didn't know he had a favorite color!
We celebrated Quincy's bravery by stopping at McDonald's for a little bite to eat and some time to play on the gigantic gerbil tubes.

New Rules!

You may recognize these pieces from Monopoly, but Quincy has taken to building villages with all of the plastic buildings. This is one of his close-knit communities!

An Afternoon With Q
The air was just right for a little picnic in the backyard. We laid out a little quilt and grabbed a few favorite books from the shelf, a little snack of popcorn balls...and headed out for a little quality time.

A Boy And His Bear(s)
I giggled to myself because of his cute little mimic-play. That is just how mommy would have done it, too!
I love you, Q!

A Boy and His Cat
They seem to have a love/hate relationship. He carries her around. She cries to be free. He pulls on her tail, he gets scolded....she curls up next to his sleeping body. They seem to be good friends. In fact, last night, he was taking a bath. I went into the bathroom to check on him and noticed Moses was S-O-A-K-E-D to the skin. I asked...."Uh, how come the cat is all wet?" He said, "Oh! Well, she was taking a bath with me! But she didn't scratch me!"

The Many Faces of Q!
When I was through with my maternity shoot this afternoon, Quincy wanted me to takes some photos of him...so we had a mini shoot. He was acting a little squirrel-y and really didn't want to cooperate at all. I ended up with some really funny shots...that really make me giggle out loud.
These first shots are relatively benign, right? A typical three-year-old in front of the camera.
