A Tisket, A Tasket....

...two Kittehs in a basket!!

Moses and Jick-Jack-Tick-Tack-Rick-Rack-Jack lounge together in this basket. I never know what I will find when I visit the thrift store. My latest score was this cute little kitteh basket bed thing. The cats all LOVE it and rarely will you find it empty. Usually, there are two cats mooshed into it. It was worth every penny of the $2.99 I spent.

Appreciation

Things for which I am grateful:

  • Cats on my windowsill
  • lots of quilts on my bed
  • a sweetie who loves me dearly
  • cold outside, cozy inside
  • lots of yarn
  • a stack of wonderful patterns
  • payday is soon!

Touchy Feely

I'd just finished my "Just Enough Ruffles" scarf by Laura Chau ... and no sooner laid it down, when Jack hopped upon it to snuggle into it. I can't say that I blame him one single bit. The yarn is Brown Sheep Company's Lanaloft and is surprisingly soft and of course it is warm. :) The pattern was a relatively quick knit and I absolutely LOVE the finished product. More photos of the scarf to follow.....
Many thanks to Jason who fixed my computer and helped me get back online....I was suffering withdrawals. I'm glad to be back!

Minty

In his younger days, this cat would strip the sheets from my mother's guest bed!
I remember one time, I'd gone to my mom's house and saw the sheets were all in disarray on the bed. I just figured that mom and put them on the bed with plans of later making the bed when time allowed. I didn't think much of it. My mom came home that same afternoon and saw the rumpled bed and thought my two little ones (who were 3 and 1 at the time) had jumped on the bed and pulled the sheets off. She thought it was kind of strange that I would allow the kids to do that, but when she went to straighten the sheets, she noticed a whole series of punctures in the sheets from Minty's teeth and claws. I guess he was upset about being left at home alone.
Minty LOVED to be petted. He loved attention that was a sure thing! Anyone who sat still long enough would find Minty at their feet. He'd start first with soft meows that I thought sounded a lot like a duck quack. Then after a few pats on the head or strokes along his back from nose to tail, the attention would usually stop. Then, there would be more meow-quacks followed by Minty's paw rubbing -- scratch that -- pulling the person's hand to him as a very direct hint that he wasn't finished being loved and petted. He usually got lots of love when all of us were gathered at my mother's house.
After 16 years, Minty has gone on to a better place.
Christmas won't be the same without Minty's begging for love!

Jitter Cat

He had to come in for a closer look. It almost looks as if he's waving at me with eager energy.

I half expected this next move of his...with those little grabby paws.

Needless to say, I'm not much of a left-handed-only photographer! But together, Jitter and I made a little scribble on the page.

Laughter! It's Good Medicine.

I have a funny cat! There was a cornflake box lying on the floor. Moses must have thought it looked like a good hideout. She ran across the floor and crammed herself into the cereal box. It would probably have worked well...if she could fit her body into the box. Only half of her fits inside the box....

She seems to have a fun sense of humor! Claustrophobic she is not....apparently.

Here Kitty, Kitty!

It's hard to believe that Moses has been with us for nearly a year. She has really become a part of our family. Last night, we couldn't find her. All of us worried that something really had happened to her. Thankfully, we found her this morning....in the garage. Why hadn't we thought to even check there? We were just glad she was safe. I'm glad to have her snuggled on my bed again tonight.

Happiness is...

...a crocheted shawl to snuggle into.

This shawl was commissioned by my mom for my Great Aunt Lorrayne who lives in Iowa. We're thinking she just might like to receive this....

Stamp of Approval

My third knitting project is a miniature scarf. I made it for Quincy. It was actually made of leftover yarn I used for the baby afghan I crocheted for him while I was pregnant with him.

I set the project down to get a coffee warm-up and came back to find that Moses was testing its warmth factor. The fact that she is all curled up on it, tells me she gave it her stamp of approval.

Moses Kitty!

I love how kitties will seek out the teensiest amounts of sunshine on the floor. We sure are enjoying our little cat.

Funny!

It turns out....HE is a SHE!!! We went through so much deliberation to come to and decide on Moses that her name will remain the same.

We like it...Now she can be....(are you ready for it???? GRANDMA MOSES!!!)

I crack me up!

Welcome, Moses!

We adopted our sweet, little kitten from a neighbor.

Moses is a sweet little boy who has won all of our hearts.

We tried out several names for him before deciding on Moses. It was not an easy task finding a name we could all agree to use for him.
