Boundaries

boundary |ˈbound(ə)rē|noun ( pl. -ries)a line that marks the limits of an area; a dividing line : (often boundaries) figurative a limit of a subject or sphere of activity: a community without class or political boundaries.
Boundaries tell each person what to expect and what is expected. By having boundaries, you still have responsibilities to at least communicate and take care of your issues. The silent treatment is NOT a boundary. The silent treatment is actually a form of emotional abuse.
Setting limits or boundaries does not give license to avoid the issue at hand.
